Hughes plants tribute to City chiefs as boss attempts to hold on to his job

Mark Hughes may be fighting to hold on to his job - but he has shown his appreciation to Manchester City's owners in a unique way. The City manager has enjoyed splashing the cash - including a British record £34million on Robinho - since arriving at Eastlands last summer. Hughes' spending spree followed the takeover by the mega-rich Abu Dhabi consortium. And the Welshman has now paid his respects by having the plant beds in the garden of his Cheshire home redesigned as a giant palm tree leaves. Our aerial shots show Hughes' effort - but will it be enough to save him from the sack...?
