Hughes coy on Tevez talk

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is remaining tight-lipped over reports he is weighing up a move for Carlos Tevez in the summer. The diminutive Argentine striker dominated the headlines this weekend as revelations of his likely Manchester United exit appeared in the Sunday newspapers, before he put in a match-winning display in the Manchester derby. Tevez, a fans' favourite at Old Trafford, scored a stunning goal and was instrumental in a routine 2-0 win for United that edges them ever closer to retaining their Premier League crown. However, while Tevez has often spoken of a desire to remain with the champions it does now look as though this campaign will be his last with United, as his loan deal expires in the summer. Tevez admits he would consider a move to another English club and it is not thought he will be short of admirers if indeed Sir Alex Ferguson decides against retaining his services. Manchester City have been mooted as possible contenders for his signature but while conceding his admiration for the player, Hughes stopped short of fuelling the speculation any further. "He was a thorn in our side [on Sunday]," said Hughes. "I thought he played exceptionally well and he scored with an exceptional strike. "I've read the reports about his situation but I don't want to comment on a United player."
