Nigel de Jong has been told he cannot visit Hatem Ben Arfa in hospital because he was responsible for the winger's broken leg. [LNB]Newcastle's Ben Arfa is recovering in a Manchester hospital after surgery on his left leg, which was broken in two places by the Manchester City midfielder's mistimed tackle at Eastlands last Sunday. [LNB]Despite the furore over the legality of De Jong's challenge, the Holland player was said to be devastated by Ben Arfa's injury and had indicated he would like to see the France player before he returned to the North East. [LNB]However, when a City official contacted Ben Arfa's representatives to arrange an initial visit for himself on Wednesday, he was told Ben Arfa didn't want any visitors from the club. It is understood that City have instead sent a gift to the hospital and will respect Ben Arfa's wishes. [LNB] Horror tackle: De Jong launches into Ben Arfa[LNB]Meanwhile, De Jong has decided to let the dust settle on the incident and his subsequent exclusion from the Holland squad before making any decisions about his future under Bert van Marwijk. [LNB]The coach responded to De Jong's challenge by dropping him from the squad to face Moldova and Sweden in Euro 2012 qualifiers in the next few days. [LNB]Van Marwijk told the 25-year-old in a phone call on Monday that the ban would last for  two games, but it is not known if De Jong will agree to come back. [LNB]FIFA's medical chief Dr Michel D'Hooghe stepped into the row yesterday, attacking Holland's roughness in the World Cup final and calling for tougher sanctions to punish 'criminal and brutal' tackles. [LNB] High and dry: De Jong makes his infamous assault on Xabi Alonso in the World Cup final[LNB]In a separate move, Newcastle have sent a video of key decisions to Premier League referees chief Mike Riley and asked for his observations. The move follows a letter they sent to the FA calling for De Jong to be banned. [LNB]The Tyneside club were unhappy with referee Martin Atkinson's performance at Eastlands and included more than De Jong's tackle in their video. It also featured the two penalty incidents one awarded against Mike Williamson for his 'foul' on Carlos Tevez, which the Toon claim was not a foul and was outside the box, and one not given for Joleon Lescot t's foul on Shola Ameobi. [LNB]The club highlighted Tevez's goal celebrations, when he ran to the City bench and off the pitch, which they say warranted a second yellow card. They also asked Riley for comments on other decisions they feel have gone against them this season.[LNB] Andy Townsend insight: Van Marwijk's a disgrace for dropping De JongBen Arfa could still earn Newcastle move despite horror breakNEWCASTLE UNITED FC
