Has Manchester City's Carlos Tévez proved Sir Alex Ferguson wrong?

Manchester United had first option to buy Tévez last summer but the manager did not see paying the £25m needed to turn his loan spell at the club in to a permanent deal as good value. [LNB]With the Argentine similar in character and technique to Wayne Rooney, United's undisputed first choice striker, it seemed a prudent move on the part of Ferguson though recent financial reports coming out of Old Trafford suggest that the decision not to shell out on Tévez might not have been purely in his hands anyway. Would he have plundered the same ratio of goals in a United shirt had he been given more opportunity?
