Guardiola On For 100% Record?

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola insists his team can still keep improving.

The recent success of the German giants has seen them break records both domestically and in Europe.

They won the treble in 2012-13, and under Guardiola, who took charge over the summer, they have continued to thrive.

Bayern are currently top of Champions League Group D with five wins from five fixtures and will be looking to complete their 100 per cent record in the section in Tuesday evening's home clash with second-placed Manchester City - a game the Bundesliga leaders head into off the back of Saturday's 7-0 triumph at Werder Bremen, their 11th straight victory in all competitions.

It seems things could hardly be going more smoothly for Guardiola, but the Spaniard - winner of the Champions League twice while boss at Barcelona - has stressed there are areas in which he feels Bayern could be better.

The 42-year-old said: "One thing I can't stand is losing possession. That is something we can always improve on.

"Every game counts - you learn from every game.

"You always still have to improve. We won 7-0 at Bremen, but in the first half they had two or three chances.

"That is something we have to try to avoid. Improvement is always possible."

Guardiola is not taking things for granted with regard to where his side will finish in Group D and has emphasised the need for concentration in the City game.

The two teams will switch places if the Blues, who are three points behind Bayern, win in the Allianz Arena with a better scoreline than 3-1 - that by which they were beaten in the reverse fixture.

It looks an unlikely prospect, but Guardiola has been keen to emphasise how great a threat he thinks City pose.

He said: "Coming second in the group is not really an option for us. It is something we want to avoid.

"I have a lot of confidence in my team, but I also know how dangerous Manchester City are.

"They have incredible players - they can get three or four chances within a few minutes. So we have to really look out for that.

"My players have to really concentrate and be aware of the situation.

"We have a very big chance to be first in the group and that is what we have to aim for."
