Pablo Zabaleta plans to remain at Manchester City for the long-term as he strives to ensure the club continues to grow. City, boosted by the financial backing of the Abu Dhabi United Group, have ambitious targets, with the Eastlands outfit keen to build a side capable of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Former Espanyol defender Zabaleta is delighted to be at the City of Manchester Stadium and is backing the current crop of players to flourish in the seasons to come. "I want to play for Manchester City for a long time," he told the club's official website. "I enjoy life here, I don't even mind the rain! "It's different here from Barcelona, but I like it. It's a great opportunity for me as a person and I am sure Manchester City can grow bigger and the players here can change the history of the club." Zabaleta, who has two caps to his name, also confirmed his desire to be part of Diego Maradona's plans for Argentina. "It is good for Argentina and the people that a great hero like Maradona is in charge," he said. "We call him Dios - God. He won the World Cup as a player and we hope he will win it now as coach. "I would love to be in his plans but he has not called me yet."
