Grief-stricken Adebayor not ready to return for City after terrorist attack

Emmanuel Adebayor has warned he is some way off returning to actionwith Manchester City, as he struggles to come to terms with last week'sdeadly shootings on the Togo national team in Cabinda. [LNB]Three people were killed in the ambush as Togo travelled to playtheir first game of the Africa Nations Cup, which was scheduled forMonday.[LNB]'If it meant going back tomorrow, I wouldn't be capable of givingeverything that I've got,' he said in an interview with SNTV onWednesday.[LNB] Indefinite break: Adebayor's return to City is unclear [LNB]City travel to Everton on Saturday in high spirits, following their4-1 rout over Blackburn earlier this week but Adebayor insists he willplay no part.[LNB]'I appreciate what we are doing at the moment,' he said. 'But my headis not what we are scoring at the moment, my head is on the familiesthat lost their people. I will not be able to play that game.'[LNB]'Even me standing on that pitch would be the worst thing that Icould do because I am not 100 percent yet and I have to start trainingfirst, recover first from what happened. At the moment my head is noton football now. We are talking about lives - life is more importantthan football.'[LNB] Togo terror: Adebayor says he can't eat and is losing weight [LNB]City have granted the 25-year-old Adebayor compassionate leave to stay with his family in Togo's capital of Lome. [LNB]'At the moment, I'm just sweating everyday and every day that God made,' Adebayor said. [LNB]'At the moment, I can't even eat - I'm losing weight, which is verydifficult for everyone. I will take time and I will come back on thepitch at the right time. [LNB] 'And I think my boss (Roberto Mancini) and my team understand thatis the most important thing. And they know I need time to recover fromthis, and at the moment I am just staying home with all my (Togo)teammates. We are all together - (as) one.' [LNB]Following the shootings, the Togolese government withdrew their teamfrom the tournament and Adeabyor, who is currently with his family inTogo, admits he has not decided when he will return to Eastlands.
