Gordon Taylor tells Roberto Mancini and Carlos Tevez to sort out feud

Players' chief Gordon Taylor insists Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and striker Carlos Tevez must sort out their feud. [LNB]The two clashed at the Allianz Arena during City's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich when Mancini planned to introduce Tevez as a substitute in the second half.[LNB]Afterwards, Mancini said that his striker refused to come off the bench although the Argentine released a statement on Wednesday morning saying it was simply a misunderstanding.[LNB] You're finished! Mancini gestures towards Tevez after he fails to leave the bench[LNB]Either way, Gordon, chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, says the pair must find a resolution.[LNB]''There have been mixed messages for some time,' Taylor told BBC Radio 5 Live. 'They are human beings and emotions run high, but clearly things aren't right.[LNB]'They've got to get round the table and sort it out, it's unsatisfactory at the moment. It's happened before with players. The two have contrasting temperaments.[LNB]'Sometimes positions get entrenched, and that seems to be the situation here. Of course if one of my members puts on that statement then you have to believe them but you saw the facts.[LNB]'If you are a top player and Tevez is a top player it is question just as you had with Dzeko coming off last night they get upset and being asked to come off and they get upset at being asked to go on and it is a question of pride. Having said that, they are paying his wages and no matter what you have to be above that.' [LNB]Taylor says Mancini and Tevez were destined for a confrontation after the player said he wanted to leave the club in the summer.[LNB] Calm down! Edin Dzeko shows his frustration after being replaced by Mancini[LNB]And the PFA chief says Tevez should have really left then but says such is City's wealth that it is almost impossible now for any other club to match Tevez's wages.[LNB]Taylor said: 'This is a situation which has been getting out of hand for some time and I think that it would have been much better if he had gone in the transfer window, but the problem is that Manchester City pay such good money that these players and the agents that advise them are going to struggle to get the club that treats them as well.[LNB]'How is it going to end? The manager picks the team but this is the case where the chairman, the football director Brian Marwood have to get round the table and sort this out. They have a top-class player there who when he is good he is very good.[LNB]'If life was so simple and there were just yes and no answers yes he was wrong but the reasons behind it are quite complex and need sorting.'[LNB]Taylor also fears therewill be more problems for managers like Mancini  as top clubs move towards a squad-based system. With players now on huge salaries and, in some instances, with egos to match, Taylor is concerned about their potential reaction to not being automatic first choice.[LNB] After the storm: Tevez leaves the Allianz Arena seemingly without any worries[LNB] 'I think a lot more players are going to get upset,' he said. 'There will be top players not happy at being substituted, others who are not too pleased at being asked to retrieve a situation.[LNB]'But it is part and parcel of the game now. Players have to be professional, although sometimes managers have to be aware of the sensitivities involved too.'Taylor would be happy to get involved to try and resolve the situation should either party request it. Such was the strength of Mancini's statements on Tuesday night however that a peace deal seems highly unlikely.[LNB]'It is a serious situation,' said Taylor. 'It wasn't a good thing to happen.[LNB]'It would have been difficult enough to accept if Manchester City had been winning. The fact they were losing 2-0 made it harder to understand.[LNB]'The owners of Manchester City clearly want a club with a good reputation. That was not the case last night. A statement has been made by Roberto Mancini that the player will not play for the club again. Now it is for the owners to deal with.'[LNB] Tevez hits back: I didn't refuse to play as Mancini insists he's 'finished' after sensational bench rowFinished!
