21 March 2012 22:46

Carlos Tevez is back in the Manchester City fold after coming on as a second half substitute in Wednesday's 2-1 Premier League win against Chelsea.

Tevez had been in exile for six months after refusing to warm-up during a Champions League match at Bayern Munich. Here AFP Sport looks at the Argentine's stormy spell on the sidelines:

2011

September 27 - Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini insists Tevez will never play for the club again after accusing him of refusing to play as a substitute in the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

September 28 - Tevez claims he only refused to warm up and blames a misunderstanding, but City suspend the Argentinian for two weeks pending an investigation.

October 12 - City announce Tevez will face disciplinary proceedings over "alleged breaches of contract".

October 13 - Tevez returns to City after suspension but is ordered to train alone.

October 25 - City announce they have found Tevez guilty of five breaches of contract, including refusing to play, and fine him four weeks' wages.

November 1 - Mancini admits Tevez could come back into his side, if he apologises for his behaviour.

November 9 - City confirm that Tevez fails to report for training and is understood to have returned to Argentina without permission.

2012

January 24 - City stopped paying Tevez's wages estimated at £200,000 a week at the end of November and also fined the South American six week's wages on December 22 for gross misconduct over his refusal to return.

January 31 - AC Milan, Inter Milan and Paris St Germain all show an interest in Tevez during the transfer window but no move is forthcoming before the deadline.

February 3 - Mancini admits Tevez could feature in the Premier League again and names the Argentinian in his 25-man squad for the remainder of the season.

February 14 - Returns to City and apologises "sincerely for his conduct" in recent months in a statement released by the club, withdrawing his appeal against a fine for gross misconduct.

March 21 - Comes on as second-half substitute and sets up winning goal for Samir Nasri in 2-1 win over Chelsea at Eastlands.
