18 January 2011 22:31
Follow Sportsmail's live coverage of the FA Cup third round replays where there are three ties to be decided tonight. High flying Manchester City will hope to avoid an upset at home to Leicester while Stoke travel to Cardiff and Wolves host Doncaster.[LNB] FA Cup third round replays (7.45pm)Cardiff 0-2 Stoke (aet) FT[LNB]Manchester City 4-2 Leicester FT[LNB]Wolves 5-0 Doncaster FT[LNB]22.25: To sign off, Wolves will meet Stoke in the fourth round at Molineux and Manchester City will travel to Notts County.[LNB]There is still one more third round replay to be decided and that comes tomorrow when Leeds host Arsenal at Elland Road.[LNB]Follow Sportsmail's coverage to find out if the FA Cup has saved the best until last.[LNB]That's all from me for now, thank you for following and good night.[LNB]22.23: So no Premier League casualties and therefore no upsets - but there was 13 goals and that's a good consolation prize.[LNB]22.20: Apart from Walters' finishing there was nothing to separate the two sides.[LNB]No team really looked up for it but neither really were put under any sort of pressure, that onslaught from Cardiff I was talking up never came and Stoke breezed through extra time.[LNB]22.18: Full-time: Cardiff 0-2 Stoke[LNB]22.17: Just to rub it in there will be one minute added on. I know rules are rules but is this really needed?[LNB]22.16: Final chance for Stoke, Ricardo Fuller feeds in Soares, but his left foot lob is off target as Heaton closed him down.[LNB]22.15: Just two minutes left and it's only one man and his dog left in this stadium - discounting the vocal Stoke fans who are obviously delighted with how extra-time has gone.[LNB] Getting shirty: Jon Walters (centre) scored his second in extra-time to make the game safe for Stoke[LNB]22.12: GOAL! Cardiff 0-2 STOKE[LNB]Cue a mass exodus. Jon Walters converts the rebound off his own shot to put this tie to bed and score his second of the game.[LNB]He is booked for taking off his shirt in what is a very cold night in Cardiff.[LNB]22.10: If anything Stoke will get a second, Glenn Whelan's shot deflected behind for a corner.[LNB]22.07: Efficient from Stoke, pain for everyone else. The Premier League side have taken the sting out of this by just passing it around - the Championship side cannot get the ball off them.[LNB]22.05: Both sides have used all their subs of course, so fatigue is going to play its part on what is a pretty poor pitch.[LNB]22.02: And we re-start proceedings.[LNB]21.59: Half-time at Cardiff. Home crowd are flat and so is their team.[LNB]They need a big push in the final 15 minutes, they have nothing to lose now.[LNB]21.56: This remains poor, Cardiff naturally are looking to do the attacking, but their strikers just cannot seem to keep hold of the ball. Very easy for Stoke so far.[LNB]21.53: Walters has a chance to end this as a contest but after breaking free of the back line, he spends too long deciding what to do and his eventual shot is blocked. As a Premier League striker he has to be sharper than that.[LNB] Vital: Jon Walters hit Stoke's first in extra-time[LNB]21.50: At least that goal has turned this game into a spectacle now. Cardiff simply have to go for it at some point and no matter what level of football you're watching, a gung-ho attack does usually make excellent drama.[LNB]21.46: GOAL! Cardiff 0-1 STOKE[LNB]If only the golden goal rule still existed! Not that I favour Stoke but if the next 29 minutes is anything like the first 90 this is going to be worse than pulling your teeth out.[LNB]Either way Jon Walters meets Tonge's corner in the six yard box to head past Tom Heaton.[LNB]21.44: Stoke City get extra-time going.[LNB]21.42: Maybe a tad harsh on Doncaster that who were looking likely to grab an equaliser after the break.[LNB]But after those second and third goals went in, the heads dropped and the Premier League club brutally took them to the cleaners.[LNB]21.40: Full-time: Cardiff 0-0 Stoke (extra time to play)[LNB]21.39: Full-time: Wolves 5-0 Doncaster[LNB] Five of the best: David Jones celebrates scoring Wolves' fifth goal in injury time[LNB]21.38: GOAL! WOLVES 5-0 Doncaster[LNB]A five star effort from Mick McCarthy's side, David Jones crashing in Jarvis' corner deep into injury time.[LNB]21.37: Full-time: Manchester City 4-2 Leicester[LNB]21.36: Leicester have played their part in this. They have come and had a go at City and although they are set to lose, can be proud of their performance.[LNB]21.34: We are into injury time in all three games, but never mind extra-time, Cardiff - Stoke has penalties written all over it.[LNB] Game over: Kolarov rifles in Manchester City's fourth[LNB]21.33: GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 4-2 Leicester[LNB]It's all over now, Aleksandar Kolarov pings one in the bottom corner from about 23 yards out and this cup tie is now over as we enter injury time.[LNB]21.30: Wolves have made all their subs with Stephen Ward and Sam Vokes replacing Fletcher and Doyle respectively.[LNB]Doncaster have made all three changes, James Chambers goes off and George Friend comes on. Dennis Souza replaces Coppinger and Steve Brooker is on for Billy Sharp.[LNB]21.28: Jo has also replaced Yaya Toure at Eastlands and without sounding too harsh, I would not stick my mortgage on him to score from six yards out.[LNB] Hope: Lloyd Dyer pulls a goal back for Leicester[LNB]21.27: GOAL! Manchester City 3-2 LEICESTER[LNB]Just like Johnson's goal in the first half. Yuki Abe plays a superb through ball and Lloyd Dyer shrugs off Vincent Kompany before slotting low past Hart. This is not over yet just yet.[LNB]21.24: Soares nearly scored with his first touch too - his shot just deflected wide past the post.[LNB]21.23: Final subs used at Cardiff. Drinkwater is replaced by Adam Matthews, while for Stoke Marc Wilson and Tom Soares replaces Salif Diao and Pennant respectively.[LNB]21.22: Some potentially nasty scene at Cardiff. It seems the home and away fans have somehow mixed and the police are quickly on the scene to try and separate them again.[LNB]Not much else happening, it really has been an awful game.[LNB]21.20: Hand bags at Eastlands, Dyer and Vieira square up to each other - laughable considering Dyer's height disadvantage.[LNB]It comes after the striker goes down a bit too easily from the ex-Gunner's challenge in the box, and the referee opts to just leave it at yellow cards for both of them.[LNB] Tough crowd: Matt Jarvis finds two fans to celebrate to after scoring Wolves' fourth[LNB]21.18: GOAL! WOLVES 4-0 Doncaster[LNB]Top class from Matt Jarvis, he really belongs in the Premier League. The away side have fallen to pieces and the winger adds to their misery by fizzing a shot across goal and into the corner.[LNB]21.16: Just under 20 minutes remaining at Eastlands and Leicester have not given up. They win a free-kick 25 yards out but Waghorn's effort cannons off the wall and out to safety.[LNB] Scrappy: Stoke's Salif Diao and Cardiff's Jon Parkin battle for the ball as bothsides continued to struggle to make chances in the second-half[LNB]21.14: Subs from both sides at Eastlands too, Gareth Barry is on to hold the midfield in place of Silva, while Leicester throw on Martyn Waghorn for Steve Howard.[LNB]21.12: Cardiff looking to up the ante, Michael Chopra is on for Jon Parkin.[LNB]At Wolves Matt Jarvis replaces the impressive Hunt.[LNB]21.11: GOAL! WOLVES 3-0 Doncaster[LNB]That really is that now, Stephen Hunt is again involved as he tees up Kevin Doyle, whose effort crashes off the post and into the back of the net. Mic McCarthy's side heading through.[LNB]21.09: My mistake, Matt Oakley came on for Leicester at half-time to replace Richie Wellens but he has struggled to make a major impact so far.[LNB] Double up: Fletcher (10)congratulates Munjangi Bia on doubling Wolves' lead[LNB]21.08: GOAL! WOLVES 2-0 Doncaster[LNB]He just had to score tonight and he does not disappoint.[LNB]Geoffrey Mujangi Bia meets a Ronald Zubar cross to blast past Sullivan and that should be that for this game.[LNB]21.06: A chance at Cardiff! Ryan Shotton meets Jermaine Pennant's corner with a fierce header but it just skims the roof of the net. Big chance and should hit the target.[LNB]21.05: Jack Hobbs clearly brings down Tevez in the box, but the Argentine's low penalty down the centre is saved by Weale before it loops out for a corner on the spin. A shot in the arm for the Foxes.[LNB] Paying the penalty: Tevez saw his effort saved by Weale[LNB]21.03: PENALTY (Manchester City)[LNB]21.01: If Manchester City sharpen up their act they could bag about five or six goals this evening.[LNB]Leicester are throwing men forward as you expect but City have once or twice countered at speed and only their poor passing is preventing them from creating clear cut chances.[LNB]20.58: Doncaster are still up for the cup though. They are off like a steam train at Molineux. John Oster picks out James Coppinger with a great pass but his effort is deflected wide off Ronald Zubar, good response since the break from the Championship side.[LNB]20.55: Extra-time beckons at the Cardiff City Stadium. Yes I know we still have well over half an hour to go but the pace is lacking, the atmosphere is lacking and this just has 0-0 written all over it.[LNB]20.53: No drama as yet, though Aleksandar Kolarov slices a shot wide from 18 yards after becoming the latest Man City player to get behind the Leicester back line.[LNB]20.48: We are back underway everywhere.[LNB]20.46: Cardiff - Stoke....we need a miracle if we are going to get a goal there, that was a dire first half.[LNB]20.43: None of these games look quite done and dusted yet.[LNB]Manchester City will be on their way to the fourth round if they get another (regardless what happened last weekend), and Wolves I think will continue to be too strong for Doncaster. One goal as we all know by now though is not safe.[LNB]20.40: I may as well make it the hat-trick, it's very sparse inside the Cardiff City stadium too. People are just not up for these mid-week replays just a month after Christmas.[LNB]20.33: Half-time: Cardiff 0-0 Stoke[LNB]20.31: Half-time: Wolves 1-0 Doncaster[LNB]20.30: Half-time: Manchester City 3-1 Leicester[LNB]20.28: No goals but more subs at Cardiff. This time it's the hosts forced into a change.[LNB]Aaron Wildig is on for the injured Stephen McPahil, no goalkeeper has been seriously tested in this one.[LNB]20.25: It's him again but this time he should score. Mujangi Bia is the beneficiary  in the box after some good passing between Fletcher and Steven Mouyokolo. But from eight yards out he blasts over the bar, not his best moment of the night.[LNB] Threesy does it: Johnson wasted no time doubling Manchester City's lead[LNB]20.23: GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 3-1 Leicester[LNB]I blinked and missed it, but with the benefit of replays, David Silva plays a textbook through ball from the halfway line that Adam Johnson latches onto and this time blasts past Weale.[LNB] On target: Vieira (left) is congratulated by Zabaleta (5) and Silva after he puts Manchester City back in front[LNB]20.22: GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 2-1 Leicester[LNB]He makes amends. It's all Tevez again as he picks out Pablo Zabaleta in the box with a superb pass.[LNB]He cuts it back for David Silva whose shot is well cleared off the line by Sol Bamba, but only as far as Patrick Vieira who stretches to tap home the rebound from two yards out.[LNB]20.19: Mujangi Bia is running the show at Molineux, he goes close himself after some good work on the flank is followed by him cutting inside and shooting just wide of the post.[LNB]Neil Sullivan was rooted, Wolves looking the better side.[LNB] Stalemate: Stoke and Cardiff struggled to break each other down in the first half, with the Potters having to bring on Michael Tonge (left) following an injury to Danny Higginbotham[LNB]20.16: What is it with early subs this evening? Leicester join the club, bringing on Franck Moussa for goal scorer Gallagher who limps off injured.[LNB]20.14: Top save again from Weale, Milner's low ball across the box is hit first time by Yaya Toure, but under pressure the Ivorian can only fire it low but with enough power to force an honest save.[LNB]20.12: Leicester are growing in belief, Dyer is through down the centre but his attempted effort from the edge of the area is blocked by Joleon Lescott out for a corner, what a cup tie this is![LNB] Spot on: Paul Gallagher (left) celebrates Leicester's equaliser[LNB]20.09: Wolves looking lively. Mujangi Bia receives a cut back from Stephen Hunt before he fires an effort just wide of the post.[LNB]20.05: GOAL! Manchester City 1-1 LEICESTER[LNB]Patrick Vieira needlessly sticks out a leg to bring down Lloyd Dyer and it's such an obvious penalty not even the Man City players complain.[LNB]Paul Gallagher stands with his back to goal before taking a run up and blasting the ball past Joe Hart who dives the wrong way. Game on and I wasn't expecting to type that so soon.[LNB]20.03: PENALTY (Leicester)[LNB] Ear we go again: Manchester City's Carlos Tevez celebrates his opening strike against Leicester[LNB]20.00: GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 Leicester[LNB]World class, Carlos Tevez controls a non-threatening throw in on the edge of the box, nutmegs one player shrugs off another before blasting the ball across goal into the top corner. The Argentine really is a joy to watch. [LNB]19.58: It's Cardiff with the first chance though. Daniel Drinkwater forcing an honest save from Thomas Sorensen in the Stoke goal.[LNB]19.55: Just five subs on Stoke's bench and one has been used all ready. Michael Tonge is on for Danny Higginbotham who seems to have picked up an injury.[LNB]19.53: What a waste from Johnson, he does the hard part in beating the offside trap to latch onto Tevez's through ball. But one-on-one with the keeper the winger fires low and straight at Chris Weale.[LNB]19.50: GOAL! WOLVES 1-0 Doncaster[LNB]It's not packed at Molineux either but the Premier League side are in front thanks to Steven Fletcher's neat header from Stephen Hunt's terrific cross.[LNB]19.49: Bright start from Stoke, they are doing all the pressing in the early stages, no clear cut chances yet.[LNB] Under pressure: Doncaster's James Chambers (left) tackles Wolves' Stephen Fletcher[LNB]19.48: Very unlucky from Andy King, the Leicester skipper reacts well in the box to hit a volley but the effort is deflected over for a corner that City survive.[LNB]19.47: Not a full house by any means in Manchester, both sides still feeling each other out.[LNB]19.45: We are underway in the FA Cup, City now wearing their traditional blue shirts...[LNB]19.41: Manchester City emerge from the Eastlands tunnel in red and black stripe shirts - all saying 'Young' on the back.[LNB]It's all in aid for Neil Young who scored the winning goal in the 1969 FA Cup final for City against Leicester who has sadly been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The shirts will be signed by players and sold to raise funds after the game.[LNB]19.38: Ricardo Fuller and Jermaine Pennant feature in a Stoke side showing 10 changes for their replay at the Cardiff City Stadium.[LNB]Fuller missed last weekend's 2-0 win against Bolton due to a family bereavement and Pennant was an used substitute, but Stoke boss Tony Pulis recalls them both as the Potters target a fourth round trip to Wolves or Doncaster.[LNB]Skipper Danny Higginbotham is Stoke's solitary survivor from the Bolton game, while Cardiff manager Dave Jones hands a home debut to striker Jon Parkin - recently signed from Preston - who scored City's goal in a 1-1 draw at Championship promotion rivals Norwich three days ago.[LNB]But neither Craig Bellamy nor Jay Bothroyd are included, with Michael Chopra named among the substitutes.[LNB]19.35: Wolves boss Mick McCarthy makes four changes for his side's replay with npower Championship club Doncaster at Molineux.[LNB]McCarthy drops Stephen Ward, Christophe Berra, Matt Jarvis and Nenad Milijas to the bench and brings in Stephen Mouyokolo, Geoffrey Mujangi Bia, Jody Craddock and Karl Henry, the latter named as captain.[LNB]For Craddock it is his first game since mid-October due to a hip problem, while it is Henry's first start for two months after he returned from a two-month lay-off with a knee injury as a substitute in Saturday's 4-3 defeat at Manchester City.[LNB]After a 3-0 home defeat to Reading, Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll makes two changes, bringing in James Chambers for the ineligible Matt Kilgallon and Martin Woods for Joseph Mills, sidelined with a knee injury.[LNB]19.32: And if tonight's games are anything like the first clashes, we are in for a treat.[LNB]The three fixtures produced 10 goals first time around and more of the same again would be a treat.[LNB]19.29: And from Eastlands:[LNB]Man City v LeicesterMan City: Hart, Zabaleta, Lescott, Kompany, Kolarov, Toure Yaya, Vieira, Milner, Adam Johnson, Tevez, Silva. Subs: Given, Barry, Jo, Toure, De Jong, Boyata, Nimely.Leicester: Weale, Naughton, Hobbs, Bamba, Berner, Gallagher, Wellens, Abe, Andy King, Dyer, Howard. Subs: Logan, Neilson, Teixeira, Oakley, Waghorn, N'Guessan, Moussa.Referee: Mark Halsey (Lancashire)[LNB]19.26: I will be honest I am actually a big fan of replays. To the extent I would take it and further and bring them back for every stalemate in the FA Cup.[LNB]As exciting as penalties are, I would much rather my team were knocked out in a footballing way, rather than the lottery of five spot-kicks that always leaves you with quite an empty feeling in your stomach hen you lose.[LNB]19.23: And from Molineux:[LNB]Wolverhampton v DoncasterWolverhampton: Hahnemann, Zubar, Stearman, Craddock, Mouyokolo, Mujangi Bia, Henry, David Jones, Hunt, Doyle, Fletcher. Subs: Hennessey, Ward, Berra, Jarvis, Milijas, Davis, Vokes.Doncaster: Sullivan, O'Connor, Hird, Lockwood, Chambers, Oster, Wilson, Martin Woods, Coppinger, Sharp, Hayter. Subs: Gary Woods, Friend, Brooker, Shiels, Webster, Souza, Fairhurst.Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire)[LNB]19.20: Our first full lineup of the evening come from Cardiff:[LNB]Cardiff v StokeCardiff: Heaton, Blake, Hudson, Gyepes, Naylor, Rae, McPhail, Drinkwater, Burke, Parkin, Keogh. Subs: Marshall, McNaughton, Chopra, John, Matthews, Wildig, Jarvis.Stoke: Sorensen, Shotton, Collins, Faye, Higginbotham, Whelan, Pugh, Diao, Pennant, Fuller, Walters. Subs: Nash, Soares, Sidibe, Wilson, Tonge.Referee: Peter Walton (Northamptonshire)[LNB]19.17: Full team news on the way but Roberto Mancini names a stronger than expected Manchester City line-up for tonight's replay with Leicester at Eastlands.[LNB]Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure and David Silva are all included as City look to book a fourth round trip to Notts County.[LNB]Former City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is intent on stopping them, although he is unable to call on the services of new arrival Yakubu, who is not registered in time to be involved, whilst Blues old-boy Darius Vassell is ruled out with a hamstring injury.[LNB]19.15: Super Sunday in the Premier League may have had an anti-climax feel to it with all four games ending in draws but that is where the world's oldest football competition steps in.[LNB]The FA Cup brings us three third round replays this evening which must be decided tonight, so extra-time and penalties do beckon.[LNB]No worries about honours being shared here then and maybe, just maybe we will get an upset.
