EXCLUSIVE: Stoke manager Pulis eyeing Dunne deal with Man City

Tony Pulis will join the bidding for Manchester City defender Richard Dunne as he attempts to give Stoke City a firm foothold in the Barclays Premier League. After defying the odds by keeping them up last season, the Stoke manager (right) is determined to deliver the signings he believes can consolidate their position in the top flight. He is planning a bold move for striker Djibril Cisse, as revealed in Sportsmail this morning, and is now ready to challenge the likes of Tottenham for experienced Republic of Ireland centre-back Dunne. While the main focus of attention at Eastlands is on incoming transfers, Dunne could be on his way out and is unlikely to be short of options. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is a confirmed admirer of the 29-year old and is considering an approach, amid ongoing concerns about Ledley King's fitness. Pulis is also about to contact City about an asking price as he looks to strengthen his team at both ends of the pitch. He wants Dunne to be the new cornerstone of his defence and is still hoping he can persuade Cisse to lead his attack, despite a clear signal the Marseille frontrunner would favour a move to White Hart Lane after finishing his loan spell at Sunderland.
