Evra: United will show City who are the kings of Manchester and I'll boo Tevez!

Patrice Evra has taunted Manchester City ahead of Sunday's derby showdown by claiming Sir Alex Ferguson's side remain a class above them. United defender Evra cut ambitious City down to size by insisting Fergie's men remain the kings of Manchester, despite Mark Hughes and his players aiming to dethrone them. "You always want to win when you're playing City in the derby," said Evra. "City will want to show people they're the kings of Manchester, but they aren't yet. "We have to make sure that doesn't happen. City are ambitious. They haven't lost yet this season and they want to stay in the top four. "They've bought a lot of players and they beat Arsenal 4-2, so they'll be going into the derby with a lot of confidence. "But we're confident because we are Manchester United. Over the years we've won a lot more than City and we need to make sure we do that again. "We are Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, and every time we play City we really have to show that." Evra admitted he had been in contact with his friend, former United striker Carlos Tevez, who is desperate to recover from a knee injury and face his old club at Old Trafford. Although Tevez was idolised by United fans during his two-year spell at the club, his defection to their arch rivals City has seen him become a hate figure for many. And Evra joked he will join in with the taunting of Tevez if the Argentina striker is booed by United fans on Sunday. "We've been joking a bit on the texts," said Evra. "Carlos told me they're coming to win at Old Trafford. "I'll wait for the reception he gets from the United fans, but I think Carlos will do a great job for City. "He's a good professional and he respected the United shirt. The fans loved him. I don't know if they will boo him or clap him but I said to him if they boo you, I'll boo as well! "I'm sure he doesn't want to miss that game. I think he'll make it because he's a warrior and he wants to play against us. I was surprised he left and a bit angry about it. "Carlos is a friend and was a great player for United, and when you lose a great player it can be difficult to accept. I was surprised he left. "I kept talking to him, telling him to stay. I tried to persuade him to stay because I didn't want to lose my friend, but he made a choice and I respect that."
