'Embarrassing' City anger Bolton skipper Davies

After their second loss in 12 games Davies described the Blues? gamesmanship as ?embarrassing.? Spaniard David Silva also attracted criticism, especially after one dramatic second half reaction to a Mark Davies challenge. Davies, who collected his seventh yellow card of the campaign for a first half tackle, described City?s tactics as ?frustrating.? He added: ?There are a lot of European players in their squad and I think it?s something they are taught on the continent. ?When there is not much contact and they go down screaming, it?s embarrassing from a man?s point of view. ?That?s something you need the referee to do and I thought he did OK. It?s a side of the game I don?t like to see. ?It?s frustrating and embarrassing at times. However, it?s part of our game unfortunately. ?To be honest I thought there were some good tackles coming in from them as well. That probably surprised us a little bit. ?You want to go out and compete and play the game fairly. But when it?s reversed, players then complain about the other side of it.? Davies will also incur more scorn from City supporters by dismissing them as title contenders this season. ?I don?t think they are going to win it this year, but maybe somewhere down the line; perhaps in the next four to five years they will. ?I don?t think they are quite there yet, and seeing Tevez?s reaction to being subbed assures me there are problems within at City.? Dismissal Manager Owen Coyle refused to condemn Balotelli or the antics of Roberto Mancini after Aleksander Kolarov?s dismissal for two quickfire yellow cards. Mancini, attempting to even the score, could be seen brandishing imaginary cards in the direction of referee Andre Marriner after Zat Knight?s challenge on fall guy Balotelli. ?We are both passionate about the game and we want the best for both of our teams,? said Coyle. ?I have no problem with that. He (Mancini) is someone I have a lot of time for. ?There is nothing to be caught up about, that?s the best way I can put it. ?I am not being evasive. I don?t know that happened. At the end of the day we all want the best for your team. ?And I look to do the best for Bolton Wanderers. Whatever anyone else does then that?s up to them. ?I like to go out and protect my players and if we are due a foul I will be the first to tell people. ?If you ask me about any of the City players, they are top class. That?s why they will be in the race. ?And who is to say they won?t because they have strength in depth. Balotelli looks a very talented player. ?Is he a bit temperamental? He is young and I am pretty sure in time, if he?s deemed to be temperamental, he will grow out of that.? Martin Petrov didn?t have the happiest of returns to Eastlands as Coyle?s decision to restore him to the starting line-up backfired. The former Blue went close with a first-half free kick but overall added little. ?Martin worked hard and at times he did some very good play,? insisted Coyle. ?Was Martin trying too hard, who knows? The only person who can answer that is Martin. He was a fans? favourite and I was hoping he would be at the top of his game and show that.? What do you make of the comments?
