Manchester City defender Richard Dunne is confident he will be staying at Eastlands for the new season. Dunne has been linked with a move away from the cash-rich side, with Stoke City, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur all mooted as potential suitors. Furthermore, City manager Mark Hughes has made no secret of his desire to further bolster his backline this summer, having already signed Kolo Toure from Arsenal. However, Dunne, who joined City in 2000 from Everton, is happy at the club and revealed Hughes has confirmed he remains part of his plans. He said in the Daily Mail: "I want to stay at City. I'm excited by the project here and want to be part of that. "I've been assured I don't have to leave and the manager never said I had to go. These are exciting times."
