Double attacking boost for City

Striking pair Benjani Mwaruwari and Daniel Sturridge made a welcome return for Manchester City's second string on Tuesday night.Benjani has been plagued by hamstring trouble this season and made the last of what has been just 12 appearances for City in the pre-Christmas defeat at West Brom. However, the 30-year-old lasted an hour of the Blues' 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn reserves and may yet play a major part over the next few weeks as City look to scramble into seventh place and secure European football next season. The highly-rated Sturridge should also play a part too as City try to maintain their UEFA Cup quest, with a quarter-final against Hamburg on the horizon.Sturridge has not featured for two months after picking up an ankle injury but he managed 70 minutes last night.Valeri Bojinov also started for the first time this season in Sunday's win over Sunderland, when Craig Bellamy came on as a substitute, so boss Mark Hughes may be picking from strength when City visit Arsenal on April 4.[LNB]
