Jesus Navas has warned that Manchester City are determined not to let standards slip after maintaining their faultless start to the season.
City beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday to move top of the Barclays Premier League.
Second-half strikes from Aleksandar Kolarov and Samir Nasri proved decisive, taking City's goal tally to eight from three games while they are yet to concede.
Winger Navas said: "It is not only that we have won these three games, it is that we didn't concede any goals and we created a lot of chances. We are really happy.
"It was a very important win and also two really nice goals. We worked really hard in training and luckily we got the three points. This is what we wanted.
"We need to keep the same attitude, working really well defensively and also creating a lot of chances. That is the way to win more games this season."
City's win also equalled a 103-year-old club record of nine successive top-flight victories. They will now aim to set a new mark in their next game against Watford at the Etihad Stadium next weekend.
They were soon into their stride at Goodison, with David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero looking lively and creating chances.
Everton responded with Ross Barkley testing Joe Hart and Romelu Lukaku having an effort ruled out for offside and then hitting the bar from a free-kick.
Silva hit the post early in the second half and City then broke through on the hour as Kolarov drove home from a tight angle. That sapped some energy from Everton and, although Vincent Kompany cleared off the line from Gareth Barry, Nasri settled the contest in the 88th minute.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is pleased his side are taking advantage of the relatively light workload of the early season, wary that tougher times lie ahead.
He said: "We are now just playing one game a week but from September we will play eight games a month until the end of the season. It is important to have a strong squad."
Defeat for Everton was their first of the season but they will take encouragement from the problems they caused City, particularly in the first half.
Defender Seamus Coleman told Everton TV: "We are disappointed. It was a tough game. We were against the in-form team in the country at the moment and we found it tough at times, but we could have taken the lead ourselves.
"I think the difference between the two teams was they were a bit more clinical in front of goal.
"We are looking a lot better this season. We drew the first game but I thought we did quite well against Southampton and at times here I thought we looked better. It was just about getting that first goal and unfortunately we didn't get it."
