Coca-Cola League Two title favourites Notts County got their season off to a flyer as they demolished Bradford 5-0 with new director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson in attendance. Debutant Lee Hughes scored a hat-trick, the third with a penalty, as the Magpies ran riot. Fellow new-boys Ben Davies and Brendan Moloney also got on the scoresheet as Bradford had no answer. Marc Pugh scored twice, including a last-minute equaliser, to earn Hereford a 2-2 draw at Morecambe. The left-back drilled United ahead in the 39th minute only for Craig Stanley to equalise three minutes later. Stuart Drummond's header looked to have earned Morecambe the points before Pugh's last-gasp intervention. Rotherham also left it to late but Paul Warne, who has rejoined the Millers four years after leaving, celebrated his return with an 89th-minute winner against Accrington. The veteran midfielder got on the end of Andy Liddell's weighted pass to break Accrington's resistence. Janos Kovacs' goal got Lincoln off to a winning start against a dogged Barnet. The powerful defender poked home Stefan Oakes' 58th-minute cross to seal a 1-0 win for Peter Jackson's men. A fine first-half performance helped Aldershot brush past Darlington with a comfortable 3-1 win. Marvin Morgan got them off to a flying start with a third-minute opener and Andrew Sandell's 30th-minute strike doubled their lead. Louis Soares made sure of the win before David Dowson's late consolation for the Quakers.
