Manchester City academy graduate Adam Clayton has been rewarded for some promising performances with a two-year contract extension. Clayton, 20, has moved up through the ranks at City since joining the club as a seven-year-old and has made the substitutes' bench twice this season. Although Clayton is still to make his first-team debut, Eastlands officials feel the lifelong City fan has an excellent chance of making the grade. Clayton has spoken of his delight at putting pen-to-paper: "From playing with your mates at school to training with Robinho cannot get any better. It's a dream come true, and especially for a City fan like me. "It's such a great experience playing against and training with these kinds of players. "Someone like Didi Hamann is great to learn from in my position, he's been in World Cup & Champions League finals and you cannot beat that kind of experience. He added: "I've gone from being a kid to making a career for myself, now I have to produce the goods. Now there are three points on a weekend at stake, so you have to get out there and do it. If you put the hard work in, you will get rewarded and that's what happened for me."
