City up bid for Real Madrid target by 10m

Manchester City have made an improved £40million offer for Raheem Sterling according to Press Association, but Liverpool are expected to reject the latest bid.

Having had an offer of £25million plus £5million worth of add-ons turned down last week, City have upped what they are willing to pay by £10million.

However, that still falls short of the £50million minimum Liverpool believe the 20-year-old England international is worth and they are likely to turn down the offer.

After declining a five-year deal worth over £100k a week, the 20-year-old winger has attracted excessive criticism from journalists, ex-players and fans.In an attempt to bring clarity to the situation, Sterling bravely undertook a 30-minute interview with the BBC. The reaction of that interview has had the antithesis of the desired effect.
