City to make Moss Rose return

26 May 2010 04:21
Macclesfield Town will host a Manchester City XI for a pre-season friendly at Moss Rose on Saturday, July 24.

The majority of City's key men will be on the club's pre-season tour of the US, but a number of fringe players should feature against the Silkmen.

Macclesfield chairman Mike Rance said: "City teams have always proved popular attractions at the Moss Rose and that was the case last time we played them in 2005 in a game which saw Jon Parkin scoring in 1-1 draw.

"On the City side two of the young players involved that day were Micah Richards and Stephen Ireland who went on to make their debut appearances of successful careers at City that same season."

The match will kick-off at 3pm.
