Joleon Lescott diverted the ball into his own net as 10-man Manchester City were frustrated by Liverpool in a 1-1 draw.
The former Everton defender deflected a Charlie Adam shot past Joe Hart just two minutes after Vincent Kompany had put the Barclays Premier League leaders ahead at Anfield.
City were then outplayed in a frantic second half and Mario Balotelli was sent off for two bookable offences as they dropped points for only the second time this season.
