City receive double boost
Daniel Sturridge and Benjani Mwaruwari could both feature for Manchester City against Arsenal on Saturday.
Benjani has made just 12 appearances for City this season due to hamstring problems, while ankle trouble has kept Sturridge out for the past two months.
However, both players are making good progress and manager Mark Hughes has also been boosted by news concerning Michael Johnson and Martin Petrov.
Johnson is ready to step up his comeback after being sidelined since September with groin and pelvic injuries.
Bulgarian winger Petrov is also training again following a knee problem and Hughes is delighted to have the quartet back in contention for the last two months of the campaign.
"Daniel and Benjani are at about the same level and they are just ahead of
Martin and Michael," Hughes told Key 103.
"They are all coming back at the right time for us. They will introduce an energy and enthusiasm to the squad.
"We have a number of players coming back now who are itching to get into the side and that can only be a good thing for us."
Hughes may have other worries ahead of the trip to Emirates Stadium, with Vincent Kompany, Shay Given, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Valeri Bojinov all reported to have developed problems with their various international sides.
