City legend Doyle passes away

Former Manchester City captain Mike Doyle has died at the age of 64.[LNB] Doyle, who won five England caps between 1976 and 1977, died of liver failure after several weeks of treatment in Tameside General Hospital.[LNB]He played in defence or midfield for City and scored 32 goals in 448 appearances for the club.[LNB]He won a number of honours with City - the old Division One title, the FA Cup, the European Cup Winners' Cup and the League Cup twice - including as skipper in 1976.[LNB]After leaving Maine Road in 1978, Doyle had spells with Stoke, Bolton and Rochdale.[LNB]He retired at the end of the 1983/84 season, having played 627 matches in his career and scored 42 goals.
