City boss Hughes vows to take his time and make 'quality' signings

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has told supporters he will not be rushed into strengthening his squad in the summer.   [LNB]He intends to take his time and spend wisely instead of just getting players in to make the numbers up.  [LNB] Top targets: Eto'o and Kaka have both been linked with City[LNB][LNB]  You cry babies! If we have to wait a bit longer, then so be it.  [LNB] "We want to make sure when we go into the market we get the right quality and the right type of player.  [LNB] "United have been able to build over 15-20 years with the help of Champions League money. They have world class players in back up positions. We are nowhere near that. It does take time.  [LNB] "We are very much at the beginning of where we want to go. United are at a place where they are very happy to be for quite some time."  [LNB] Former United striker Hughes is approaching the game with confidence with his side chasing a place in Europe after four successive victories.   [LNB]He said: "It is about testing ourselves against the best and United are the best, not only on these shores but worldwide as well.  [LNB] "We are still involved in games of significance and are are pleased about that. We need to get something out of our matches and it would be nice to do that on Sunday.  [LNB] "Nothing would give me greater pleasure than beating United because they have set the standard.   [LNB]"To go into their own backyard and turn them over, the effect it has not only on your group of players but the club and the fans is immeasurable."  [LNB] Skipper Richard Dunne believes the team have been on the up since the turn of the year.   [LNB]"We have started to produce the standard of football that the manager was expecting at the start of the season," he told www.mcfc.co.uk  [LNB] "We went from being a normal club to one with high expectations.   [LNB]"It all takes a bit of getting used to I suppose, and it was unsettling for a lot of people, but now everyone has grown into it.   [LNB]"It is a club with the potential to grow and win trophies.
