Chelsea boss Scolari plans new bid for unhappy Robinho

Traget man: Chelsea will make a fresh bid to sign Robinho But the Blues are looking to take advantage of Robinho's increasing unhappiness at Eastlands and are prepared to offer some players as part of the deal. It has been reported today that an agreement may even be reached this month, with Manchester City keen on Didier Drogba, but it is unlikely Scolari will sanction the departure of one of his two main strikers, even though he has been out of favour for the past two weeks. Robinho has scored an impressive 12 goals this season, nine more than Drogba, but Scolari feels the Ivory Coast international can still play a big part in their challenge for major honours before allowing him to go in the close season. He is expected to be recalled to the first team for the FA Cup fourth-found tie against Ipswich on Saturday having done extra work in training since being left out of the last two games for a poor performance at Manchester United. Drogba said: 'I've not played for the last two matches and I'm in a hurry to return to my best level and be a first-team regular again. 'If you look back to last May, I've been out for four to six months and it has been very difficult for me. But now I feel in top form. I know what I am capable of doing and the real satisfaction for me is that my knee is completely right.' Uneasy relationship: Robinho and City boss Mark Hughes The other problem regarding a move for Robinho right now is a FIFA rule which states no footballer can play for three teams in a season and he played for Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup before going to City. Chelsea will certainly step up their efforts to acquire his services in the summer and Robinho will hope his move to Stamford Bridge goes ahead this time. He has been fined two weeks 'wages, which is around£320,000, for leaving City's training camp in Tenerife earlier this week without permission. The former Santos star has apologised to manager Mark Hughes and insisted he is committed to the cause, but he expected to be challenging for trophies this season and not in a team just four points above the drop zone. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been cutting his spending on players over the past two years, but is set to make more funds available in the summer, especially as there is a consensus among the hierarchy that the squad needs freshening up. City are interested in signing more Chelsea players having already bought Wayne Bridge for£12m this month and are eyeing moves for Alex, Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou. Branislav Ivanovic's agent, Vlado Borozan, also claims that Hughes wants to buy the Serbian international defender. He said: 'There is something going on with Manchester City, but Chelsea already refused a£15m offer from AC Milan.'
