Carlos Tevez could still join Inter Milan from Manchester City
Inter Milan manager Claudio Ranieri is giving little away on the chances of the club striking a deal to sign Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.[LNB]Inter are expected to reopen talks over Tevez this week with the Premier League leaders, and will do so on the back of a 1-0 derby win over AC Milan on Sunday night.[LNB]AC Milan last week pulled out of the latest round of negotiations for the Argentina international.[LNB] Frozen out: Carlos Tevez remains a Manchester City player... for now [LNB]It was another Argentinian forward who scored the decisive goal on Sunday as Inter beat their city rivals to stay in the hunt for the Serie A title, with Diego Milito the man responsible.[LNB]Tevez has been the subject of interest from both Milan clubs, and Ranieri was asked in a succession of post-match interviews about the 27-year-old.[LNB]He told Sky Sport Italia: 'You never know. Do we really need him? You journalists certainly do...'[LNB]Talking to Rai Sport, Ranieri said: 'If he joins he'll be very welcome.'[LNB]And in his press conference, Ranieri said, according to Inter's official website: 'Tevez? If the president wants to give the city of Milan a present... I'm used to working with what I've got.'[LNB] Who needs Tevez? Inter Milan celebrate their win over their fierce rivals[LNB]Paris St Germain, now managed by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, have also been linked with Tevez who remains in Argentina, his career on hold having refused to return to City even though the furore and disciplinary action over his non-appearance against Bayern Munich in September has now been resolved.[LNB]Meanwhile, Inter president Massimo Moratti said: 'Do we need Tevez? At this moment it seems not, but football gives different answers every day.[LNB]'The offer is there, but now we are free to decide whether to go ahead with it or not.'[LNB]AC Milan would rekindle their interest if a loan deal without an obligation to buy was acceptable, but Moratti contends there is also interest from within in the Barclays Premier League.
