Cardiff still dreaming of Bellamy move

Cardiff director Steve Borley admits he has not yet given up hope of signing Craig Bellamy, but fears the move could be an 'impossible dream'.[LNB] The controversial Manchester City striker has long been linked with a move from Eastlands despite enjoying one of the best seasons of his career in the previous campaign.[LNB]Born in the Welsh capital, the 31-year-old has admitted he could be tempted to move back to his hometown club should a deal be agreed, despite taking a drop down a division to the Championship.[LNB]There is little doubt that many top flight clubs would be interested in signing the former Liverpool and Newcastle forward, with Tottenham reported to be one of his suitors, but Bellamy made it clear that if a deal was possible, he would move back to Wales to be close to his family.[LNB]Cardiff missed out on promotion to the Premier League at the final hurdle last season, losing to Blackpool 3-2 in the play-off final and ultimately suffering from the lack of finances that could have been available had they reached the top flight.[LNB]With Bellamy's reported £90,000-a-week wages at City, the Bluebirds have no ability to come close matching that figure, however Borley insisted that he was refusing to rule out the most unlikely of transfers.[LNB]"It is an impossible dream but sometimes in football the impossible happens. On paper it looks impossible but you never know with these things," he told the South West Echo.[LNB]"A lot of people would have said Manchester City loaning Robinho out to Santos would be impossible but that is exactly what happened. Effectively they sent him home.[LNB]"It would take a very generous Manchester City and a very lucky Cardiff City if it were to happen but we know how superb it would be, particularly for our supporters. But Craig is a Manchester City player and we respect that totally."
