Valeri Bojinov is determined to become Manchester City's answer to Wayne Rooney after rediscovering his fitness.[LNB] Bojinov is just a few months younger than Rooney and also made his name as a teenage prodigy with Lecce and Fiorentina.[LNB]The Bulgarian does not believe the similarities end there as he sees himself as a powerful forward capable of contributing in many ways.[LNB]Bojinov has not been able to make much an impact in the Premier League since joining City in 2007, having been sidelined for much of the time with serious cruciate ligament and Achilles injuries[LNB]But he started the 3-1 defeat to Fulham on Sunday and hopes to impress in the coming weeks, particularly the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on 10th May.[LNB]"For me, one of the best strikers in the Premier League is Wayne Rooney," Bojinov told the Manchester Evening News.[LNB]"He runs into space, supports the side and scores goals. [LNB]"That is my style of play, it is what I want to do for City. I want to score against Rooney and United in the derby at Old Trafford. [LNB]"That is a big ambition. A big dream."[LNB]HungryBojinov believes City can improve over the next couple of seasons and possibly challenge the top four in the league.[LNB]He is also hungry for silverware and thinks his team-mates can overturn a 3-1 deficit against Hamburg on Thursday to make it through to the semi-finals of the Uefa Cup.[LNB]"I want to watch the team get into the final and in a couple of seasons' time, who knows?" he added.[LNB]"Maybe we will have the chance to play in the Champions League. It will be difficult but everything is possible.[LNB]"We have the chance to add to the squad with some big players next season."[LNB]
