Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari insists that he has no intention of leaving the club in the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old Zimbabwe international has only featured once as a substitute for the Citizens this term and is a rumoured target for several other Premier League clubs, including Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth.

However, Benjani told The Standard: "I am not going anywhere and I am going to put up a fight to ensure that I get my place. I still have a contract with Manchester City.

"I have had injuries and every player goes through this phase. It will soon be over.

"I am not bothered about which club is after me, because I am still a Manchester City player."

The frontman joined City in January 2008 from Pompey and has since scored six times in 26 appearances for the Eastlands club.
