Bellamy to fight for place

Craig Bellamy insists he is willing to fight for his place at Manchester City following the increased competition up front. City boss Mark Hughes has been busy adding to his attacking options during the summer after signing Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor. The new arrivals have prompted speculation that Bellamy could be moved on just six months after joining City from West Ham United. However, Bellamy is not fazed by the big-money signings and was always aware that the ambitious Premier League club would again be active in the transfer market. The Wales international, who is fit again after a knee injury, is now determined to prove his worth to Hughes during City's pre-season friendly campaign. "That (the new signings) was the reason I joined the club," said Bellamy in the Daily Mirror. "I knew this was going to happen. "This is my last chance to have a right good end to my career. "If I am fit, I am more than able to fight for my place and that is what I am concentrating on."
