Bellamy has warning for suitors
Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has warned any clubs wanting to sign him this summer they would be "taking on more than your normal".[LNB] Bellamy's career has seen him turn out for eight clubs in 13 years and has included numerous run-ins and bust-ups along the way.[LNB]There are rumours the Wales international could leave Eastlands this summer amid reported interest from Cardiff City.[LNB]But Bellamy, who is currently in Sierra Leone at his self-funded Craig Bellamy Foundation Academy, has warned his 'demanding' nature and desire for the best can make him difficult to work with.[LNB]"If you sign me, you're taking on more than your normal. I am simply not like other people; I have always been fully aware of that," Bellamy told The Times.[LNB]"I'm very demanding, I'm demanding of the people around me, I want the best, I want everything to be right. If you want a comfortable life, you don't want me. [LNB]"But if you get me right, you have a good player."[LNB]The energetic forward has tried to tone down his appetite for perfection, but found that it had a negative impact on his performances on the field.[LNB]"I've done that once at a football club and they never got anything out of me," he added. "I was a shadow of a player. So I thought, 'Sod it, I'll go about it my way.' [LNB]"If it rubs people up the wrong way, so be it."[LNB]While his work in Africa has made Bellamy appreciate the rewards Premier League footballers enjoy, he claims that the game is far from being the centre of his world and that there are significant flaws to overcome.[LNB]He added: "Football is the greatest game in the world, don't get me wrong. I love playing, but I'm not in love with it. Playing on a Saturday, there is no better feeling.[LNB]"But in football clubs now you have this survival mode. It's too much. For every individual, players or kitchen staff, it's all about survival, staying in your job. If someone says jump, people jump. [LNB]"There are individuals who will shake your hand one minute and as soon as you're out of favour the next, they won't look at you.[LNB]"Loyalty? In a football club? You'll never see any such thing. It's people interested in looking after themselves. I find it very tough to be around."
