Bayern Munich target Manchester City's Aguero

The Mirror reports Bayern Munich are interested in signing Sergio Aguero in the summer and are willing to pay £40 million for his services.

Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of Aguero and has previously attempted to sign him at Barcelona but could not match Manchester City’s offer. City paid a reported £38 million to Atletico Madrid in 2011 and the player has only recently signed a contract extension to take his contract to 2017.

Aguero has been in top form for Manchester City this season and is the club’s top scorer however he could be pursuaded to join the current champions of Europe if Manchester City fail to win any silverware this season.

Aguero has been dissapointed in City’s performance in the Champions League and their failure to retain the title or win the FA Cup last season. The player is motivated by silverware rather than money and this would be a factor in consdidering his future.

Sources close to Bayen Munich believe the club would be willing to offer Lewandowski in exchange once the player signs in the summer for free. The deal to bring Lewandowski to Bayern was set up before Guardiola took charge of the giants.

Aguero had a disappointing season last year scoring only 14 goals and suffering with injuries but the 25-year-old has had no trouble finding the net this season and is joint leading scorer in the league with Daniel Sturridge who have both scored 8 in 10 games.

It is doubtfull Manchester City would be willing to entertain letting Aguero go as he is one of the best strikers in Europe and would be difficult to replace. City are not short of money and if the player was to leave they would expect to demand at least £60 million for the striker.
