Barry should be fit for England

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes expects Gareth Barry to be fit for England's World Cup qualifier with Ukraine. Barry finished Monday night's draw at former club Aston Villa game with a stiff back picked up during the 1-1 draw at Villa Park. The midfielder, who was given a hostile reception on his first return to Villa Park, is set to link up with England so that they can assess his fitness ahead of the games with Ukraine and Belarus. "As the game progressed he was getting stiffer and stiffer and he couldn't affect the game as much as he wanted to, but we are really pleased with what he has produced up to this point. He has been outstanding," said Hughes. "Is he an England doubt? We will have to wait and see. I don't think he is a doubt. He is just very stiff at the moment and he will need to be checked out to make sure there is nothing significant going on. "But he will turn up and hopefully he will be okay."
