WINNING FEELING: Craig Bellamy and Gareth Barry at Stamford BridgeGareth Barry reckons Wayne Bridge's heartache helped City bounce back from their midweek FA Cup heartache to stun the Premier League leaders Chelsesa at Stamford Bridge. The Blues beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge thans to two goals apiece from Carlos Tevez and Craig Bellamy. Wayne Bridge refused to shake John Terry's hand before the game. "I think it helped to galvanise us," said Barry, who has now joined up with Terry on international duty. "A lot of people feel sorry for Wayne and what has gone on, and as a club we have all supported him. Saturday was a great team performance. Whether it was down to that or not, I don't know, but it was good for Wayne, players and fans." Bridge rose above the jeers of many of the Stamford Bridge crowd. And Barry was full of praise for the way he conducted himself in the remarkable victory. "Being the person Wayne is, he didn't want to rub anything in," said Barry. "He just wanted to play for the club, and he kept his emotions to himself. His performance was brilliant. "He won't give much away, but in training and in the game, he performed as a professional person would. "As a team, we knew it was a big game for us because it could turn our season, and that is what we tried to do." What do you think? Have your say. | Submit Comments| Comments (68)| PrintWhat's this?
