Another City Defeat

Manchester City slipped to another pre-season defeat in South Africa as they were beaten 2-1 by AmaZulu.

A late penalty condemned Manchester City to a second successive defeat in South Africa, with AmaZulu celebrating Nelson Mandela's 95th birthday with a 2-1 win.

Brian Kidd took charge of City as recently-appointed manager Manuel Pellegrini flew home to Chile for family reasons.

The Blues produced a much better performance than Sunday's 2-0 loss to SuperSport in his absence but still suffered defeat.

AmaZulu took a 20th-minute lead through Bongani Ndulula in Durban, only for James Milner to level six minutes later.

City dominated proceedings but were made to pay for their futility in front of goal in the dying seconds of the match.

Abdul Razak conceded a penalty and Carlington Nyadombo dispatched the spot-kick with just seconds remaining to condemn City side to a second pre-season loss in South Africa.
