Adebayor's back for Manchester City with a taste for the unexpected

Mark Hughes intends to sprinkle a little 'stardust' on his Manchester City team by recalling Emmanuel Adebayor against Burnley today.[LNB]The Eastlands boss accepts his side lacked the magic to open up Birmingham's well-organised defence during the 0-0 draw at St Andrew's last Sunday.[LNB]And he is banking on Adebayor's unconventional style to change that against a team still looking for their first point on the road. [LNB] All action hero: Adebayor returns for City[LNB]The Togo striker is fit after an ankle problem and replaces the injured Roque Santa Cruz. Hughes said: 'We have a number of players who are able to produce the unexpected, players who can produce things when we're not playing particularly well.[LNB]'Ade's one of those. You need them. You need those guys with a little bit of stardust, someone able to produce something to take the game away from the opposition.[LNB]'If you don't have that element in a team it is hard to overcome certain opponents because they are organised and work hard. You need that flash of inspiration and we would like to think we have got that, although maybe we didn't show it last weekend.'[LNB]Adebayor has failed to reproduce the inspirational form of early season in his recent displays. Since terrorising former club Arsenal in a stormy 4-2 win on September 12, the forward has struggled.[LNB]Raking his studs down Robin van Persie's face brought a ban and a subsequent ankle injury has interrupted a rhythm that brought four goals in Adebayor's opening four Barclays Premier League games for City. [LNB]Hughes believes the giant striker just needs a run in the team to recapture his free-scoring form and Adebayor can certainly expect chances against Burnley. [LNB]Owen Coyle's men have conceded 17 goals in five away league defeats this season, including a 4-0 loss at Liverpool and 5-0 drubbing at Tottenham.[LNB] Andy Townsend's boot room: Manchester City hold the aces in clash of cultures against BurnleyMANCHESTER CITY FC
