Emmanuel Adebayor has outlined his determination to establish himself as Manchester City's leading striker this season.[LNB] Adebayor scored 14 goals in 25 league starts during his first season at City after his big-money move from Arsenal but was overshadowed by fellow summer signing Carlos Tevez.[LNB]The Argentina international led City's unsuccessful challenge for a Champions League place with 23 league goals.[LNB]They are both set to face stiff competition this term with City still targeting Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli along with Liverpool star Fernando Torres.[LNB]But Adebayor, 26, accepts big-spending City will continue to sign top players in their bid for silverware and insists he is going to fight for his place.[LNB]"If you're not at the top of your game, you're going to be sitting on the bench," he said.[LNB]"I understand that, that's normal at a good team. I'm always motivated when I go out on the pitch. We love playing football and we have to be ready for the challenge.[LNB]"A lot of good players are coming in but I still want to be the No.1 striker and that is what I am trying to do.[LNB]"They are bringing good players into this club and we have to put our spirits together to manage to win something."
