A closer look at the new midfielders in Manchester

Its ‘splashing the cash’ in both the Manchester clubs this season. And this time, it’s the Red Devils with a bigger kitty in the market. Let us have a look at how these two rival clubs have spent in the middle of the park:

Manchester City: The shrewd signing of Fernando is a brilliant move by the Citizens, who have a scarily strong midfield now. Nasri, Silva, Toure, Fernandinho, Garcia and Milner are all some of the best midfielders in the world.

The move is a brilliant one because the solidity in the midfield that was missing because all the midfielders are fond of roaming forward will be restored by Fernando. Expect Fernando and Fernandinho to be a powerful midfield core for Manchester City.

Manchester United: Ander Herrera finally embraced the club pursuing since ages. And proved it to them that the pursuit was not in vain, seeing his brilliant play from the center of the park in the recent 7-0 victory against LA Galaxy. It is too early to say, of course. But the midfielder is a promising boost.

Tactically, let’s just say that the Red Devils badly needed a proper central midfielder to pull strings from the centre and now they have one. Fellaini never recreated his Everton form at Old Trafford and this young new Spaniard seems to fit the bill. Expect this flamboyant midfielder to feature as a success for the Red Devils.
