Ebanks-Blake started his career as a junior player at Manchester United. In October 2004 he played his first senior match for the team against Crewe Alexander. A year later in a Carling Cup match he scored his first senior goal for the club against Barnet. Sylvan fractured his leg towards the end of the 2004/05 season which ment he was unable to play for the rest of that season. He returned to Manchester United reserves and with his full recovery scored a hat-trick.
