Fergie hails Anderson impact

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Brazilian Anderson has already shown that he can be a perfect long-term replacement for Paul Scholes.
The 19-year-old only joined the Red Devils last summer from FC Porto, but has already racked up 26 appearances for Ferguson's side and has impressed most observers with his energetic displays in midfield.
Ferguson said: "When Paul got his injury it was a blow for us and opened the door for Anderson and we discovered a boy who had talent.
"It may otherwise have turned out that Anderson would have had to wait, just getting the odd game here and there, which may not have helped him develop as we have seen.
"Anderson is not like Scholes entirely. He's more of an aggressive, running player.
"He's quicker than Scholes, more of the type to run forward from midfield with the ball, whereas Scholes will do it without the ball."
Meanwhile, right-back Gary Neville lasted an hour of United's reserve team's 2-0 defeat by Liverpool on Tuesday evening, as he continues his battle to overcome long-term ankle problems.
