"I was so disappointed to read of the trouble in the above game-I have been hoping for Luton to go back up,but hopefully next year. When I was in England for 4 years-Luton was the team I supported. The game I remember best was when they beat the Gunners on their home ground. Here's hoping better things are coming for Luton Town."

Non-League Rich - Luton fans disgraced the play-offs
"Richard Bates, I've supported Luton for 10 years now (I'm only 15 by the way) and I cannot believe what you are trying to put across in your "article". It is true that Luton are hated generally by non-league supporters for some apparent reason (and with you been from Eastbourne I'd imagine you are too) and for me this bias has come through in this "article". As Lutonino says, having not beaten York and only scoring once against them this season, we knew Bank Holiday Monday would be a very stern test for us as it turned out to be. There was an expectation amongst Luton fans that we would get promoted, but this was not the reason for the pitch invasion. "This all stemmed from the fact Luton supporters assumed they would breeze past The Minstermen through to the last two at Wembley, beat whoever emerged victorious in the other semi-final and reclaim their Football League status. They couldn't accept defeat." is such a ridiculous thing to say and I feel that in unfair on us and our fans. There were several hundred on the pitch - this is true, but most of these were from the Kenilworth Road end and were not there to cause trouble, they stayed well clear of the trouble by the Oak Road end and were speaking to the players. There was a very small minority in the corner of the Main Stand nearest the York fans and the tunnel which caused the trouble, but Luton Town have offered their apologies and are investigating, and the offenders will be banned. These fans are not a representative of Luton fans as a whole, and it was not only Luton causing trouble as Conference games this season - therefore to say we disgraced the play-offs is absurd. "

Non-League Rich - Luton fans disgraced the play-offs
" Hello Lutonino - thank you for taking the time out to read and enter your thoughts on my piece. In response to your comment, I want to highlight the fact that I wasn't insisting that York fans didn't goad Luton supporters - what I was suggesting is that I didn't feel it was the actual reason behind the reaction from the group which invaded the pitch. Also, I am not in any way attempting to add to Luton's troubles - I haven't made any untrue claims, just given my opinion on the matter. Finally, although I am not going to question whether this is the first time in which you have felt ashamed as a Luton Town fan - there are several occurances similar to this one which I can recall, even as recent as last year. Richard Bates "
