Malaga's owner Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Thani has once again caused a storm via his Twitter account by claiming he will retire the number 22 shirt worn by midfielder Isco this season.

The 21-year-old Spanish international is expected to complete a move to Real Madrid later this week for a fee in the region of 30 million euros ($39 million, £25.5 million).

And Al-Thani plans to honour the player despite the fact he only joined the Andalusian club two years ago from Valencia.

"No.22 shirts will not be available to any other player at Malaga CF as a courtesy to the player Isco (eds correct)" he wrote on Tuesday.

The Qatari businessman also made the headlines for his comments on Twitter back in April when he claimed Malaga's elimination at the hands of Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Champions League was due to racism on the part of UEFA.
