The wealthy Spaniards, who are backed by a Qatari sheikh, want to sign a top class striker during the summer in time for their first season in the Champions league. They are desperate to sign Schalke's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar or Dimitar Berbatov.
Berbatov, who scored 7 league goals in 12 appearances last season would be available for much less than the Dutchmen and has accepted he has no future at Manchester United.
