We lost to better side - Simpson

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson was happy to admit that his players had come up short against a better side in the 2-1 loss at promotion-chasing Port Vale.Lee Collins and substitute Louis Dodds were on target for Vale before Tyrone Barnett claimed an injury-time consolation for the Silkmen."To be fair we rode our luck a few times, but it is no disgrace to come here and lose by the odd goal," he said."I was very disappointed with the first goal because we knew they were dangerous at set plays and we worked on that. We went to sleep and left a hole at the back post."Their substitute has come on and curled one in the top corner with his second kick. Vale have got some very good strikers and that is the sort of quality you have to pay good money for."We will pick ourselves up and keep going. We can't control what other teams do and how other results go, but I'm confident we can get the points to keep us clear of trouble."
