Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of goalkeeper Matt Towns. The youngster had previously only played at University level, but manager Keith Alexander was happy that Towns could fill an important hole. "It is important that Jon Brain has competition for his place and Matt has the chance to show me he is the capable of doing just that," Alexander explained to the club's official website. "He has not got a great deal of experience, but he has played at quite a high level whilst at University so he clearly has the ability. "From what I've seen and what (coach) Steve Cherry has said to me, he is certainly a prospect worth looking at."
