Swailes extends Macc stay

Macclesfield Town defender Danny Swailes has penned a new contract running until the summer of 2009 at Moss Rose.

The 27-year-old former Bury stopper joined the Silkmen in January 2005 and is content to stay put, despite the club's battle to avoid relegation.

He told Macc's official club website: "Obviously this season is all about staying up now, but hopefully, if we do that, we can push on next season.

"The potential has obviously always been there, but we're working hard together.

"I'm quietly confident we can stay up. We've drawn one and lost two of the last three and we just need to get it going again."
