Survival would be huge achievement - Simpson

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson believes the significance of his side staying in the Football League should not be overlooked. The Silkmen are edging closer to safety and currently lie six points above the relegation zone with four matches remaining. While not yet safe, Simpson is confident his men will be playing League Two football again next season and paid tribute to their efforts during a traumatic campaign which saw midfielder Richard Butcher pass away in January.Simpson said: "People may think I'm overstating the case, but if we can survive this season, it will be one hell of an achievement in my book, given all that has happened and the resources we have to call on."We'll have played something like 15 games in two months which for a squad our size is a tough ask, especially as we've had a lot of the lads coming back from injury during that time."
