Simpson rues defensive errors

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson was frustrated after his side surrendered a two-goal lead against Torquay. The Silkmen were 2-0 up at the break and had a 3-1 advantage with just 16 minutes to play but a Jake Robinson penalty and Guy Branston's late goal ensured the spoils were shared."We came off at half-time 2-0 up and I wasn't really that content because we hadn't been at the races in the first 20 minutes," Simpson said."Then we gifted them a goal early in the second half, got one back ourselves then gave away a soft penalty and in the end were done by a flick-on from a long throw, but that's what happens in football."We can play some good football at Macclesfield and I know the supporters want us to get the ball down to play some passing football but the pitches are very lively at the moment and you can't do that all the time."It's another point in the bank and one more than Stockport and Barnet have got today which edges us just that much further away."
