Simpson hails Silkmen
Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson revealed a half-time blast helped his side to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Aldershot. The Silkmen moved into the top half of the table thanks to their fourth successive home League Two victory.A goal in either half handed Simpson's men a comfortable margin, although it was a game that should have been put to bed by the break.Simpson said: "We certainly didn't cruise it, we were decent in the second half but I thought in the first half that we were sloppy and that our passing and decision-making were poor."I don't often give them a volley at half-time but because we should have put the game to bed I did give them a few harsh words and it worked because in the second half we were much better and the workrate improved."The turning point came when we brought on Izak Reid and did a man for man-marking job on Glen Little who's played at the highest level and was beginning to pull their strings."
