Simpson hails Cobblers win

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson was delighted to secure three more valuable points in the quest for League Two survival with a 1-0 victory at Northampton.Colin Daniel grabbed the only goal of the game, driving home from inside the box after 54 minutes. Jose Veiga produced a fingertip save to keep out an Andy Holt header in the second half as Northampton lost for a fourth consecutive game.Simpson said: "I'm delighted to get the three points and to also keep a clean sheet. We could have had more goals but we were very solid at the back and it's another important win for us."I knew it was going to be a difficult game here, Northampton have got a new manager and they would have been keen to impress, but the players coped well with the situation."But we're not safe yet. I set a target of 50 points at the start of the season and that's not changed. The sooner we get there the better, but we've got a lot of games coming up in March."We go into Tuesday's match against Lincoln with three more points to play for and the players' confidence boosted by another good win."
